About the Book

Animals eat and drink in surprising, amazing and downright weird ways. Bearded vultures throw their food. Dogs slurp when they’re thirsty. Amazon horned toads swallow their meal whole. Cows burp.

You should definitely NOT copy their behavior at the dinner table. It wouldn’t be funny at all. In fact, it could be disastrous. So, mind your manners and find out what you should NOT do when you’re eating or drinking.

If you think that humans are the only ones who use cutlery to eat, then think again. Some animals do too. Well, not the forks, spoons and knives that you use. But orangutans do use sticks to dig ants out of tree holes or seeds out of fruit. And wild cockatoos shape twigs to use as a knife and a spoon to get their favorite seeds out of sea mangoes.

"WOW! As a boy mom and as a kindergarten teacher, I was impressed with this book. The story was engaging and the pictures were delightful! I loved how humor was sprinkled in within the facts to keep the book engaging. This is a great book to read for an age group for 5-9 year olds. I would suggest reading this aloud to your class if you are doing any research projects regarding animals!"
